Senior Business Intelligence Analyst - Immediate Start

The role:

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to become a key member of their BI team. Reporting to the Head of Data and Analytics, you will be instrumental in improving decision-making processes, utilising data analysis and collaboration with key stakeholders. This role involves developing self-service reports, providing insightful analysis, and implementing various data projects. Your primary focus will be heavily revolved around supporting users, being the bridge between technical and non-technical teams, and ensuring the business decisions are driven by proven data analytic insights. This is a permanent fulltime position, based in Christchurch and are open to hybrid working. 

As the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, you will:

• Build and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders 
• Actively improve internal and external communication channels and boost customer/client satisfaction 
• Understand and translate user requirements 
• Design and develop BI reports
• Work with Data Engineers and SMEs to create new reporting datasets
• Offer training on our client’s reports and reporting tools 
• Manage data analytics projects, including clarifying needs, examining data trends, and presenting your insights

The person:

You should have advanced experience in Power BI and SQL, with a strong capability to analyse data, extract meaningful insights, and respond to diverse questions. You must be adept at interpreting and clarifying requests to accurately address the users’ underlying needs. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical teams, as well as a strong business development mindset. 

The requirements:

You will ideally have:

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in business or information analysis
• Experience within the Health Industry is highly advantageous
• Advanced PowerBI and SQL expertise
