Senior CNC Machinist - Leading Industry Pay

Due to a full order book, we are seeking an experienced machinist to bolster our team, who can program, set and operate predominantly our mill-turns but also our mills/5axis machines (preferably familiar with GibbsCAM).

The WGD machine shop is part of the wider Dodson Group. The Group is well-capitalized and has been investing heavily into the WGD workshop. New machines over the past two years include a Mazak Intregrex i300, a Mazak QuickTurn 250QT, two Hartford A10's, and an Aberlink CMM. We have plans to add further machines to the shop over the near to medium term. This is an exciting time for our business.

Requirements for the role:

• Experience in CNC programming (GibbsCAM preferred)
• Turning experience preferred (not required for a strong candidate)
• Experience setting and operating multiple types of CNC machines (mix of turning and milling preferred)
• Ability to consult with Dodson design engineers on manufacturability
• Ability to work autonomously
• Willingness to learn new practices and sharing of knowledge
• Strong health & safety practices

The workshop is generally accessible between 6am and 4:30pm on weekdays and for the majority of the day on Saturdays for flexible working hours and/or overtime. Overtime (above 40 hours) is generally available on weekdays and weekends and paid at 20% vs base rate (negotiable based on experience).

Based in Auckland, the Dodson brand is known globally with 97% of Dodson-branded performance parts sold overseas across all 6 continents. Dodson designs and manufactures replacement clutches, gears, and a multitude of hard-to-find transmission components for many of the world's fastest R35 GTRs, Lamborghinis, McLarens, AMG Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, C8 Corvettes and Porsches. We have recently expanded into the market for 8-speed automatics (A90 Supra, BMW G80 M3) and have further plans in legacy manual applications and hybrids. Our products are used in a variety of street, circuit, and drag applications, but are most known for their world record-setting performances in quarter mile and half mile drag events.
