As a Senior Developer, you'll play a pivotal role in the technical landscape, driving the design, development, and maintenance of digital applications, and software solutions at Whakaata Māori. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of robust, secure, and innovative solutions that meet both business requirements and user expectations.

As a Senior Developer, you will:

• Develop and maintain mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms
• Collaborate with product owner, product analysts and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions
• Contribute to solution design evaluation, prototype development, and trade-off identification
• Craft forward-thinking technical designs aligned with business needs
• Develop secure and robust platforms, applications, and software components
• Ensure software meets defined criteria and user experience requirements through testing and automation
• Deploy code and solutions, ensuring ongoing maintenance and support
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
• Continuously improve development processes and tools
• Proactively identify and implement improvements with stakeholder approval
• Support and mentor developers over your fixed-term through code reviews and feedback

He kōrero mōu ake | About you

You will ideally have:

• Proven experience in mobile app development for both iOS and Android platforms
• Proficiency in Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin and Java
• Bachelor's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in software development and maintenance of complex platforms and applications
• Understanding of Apple Human Interface guidelines and Google Material Design principles
• Proficiency in RESTful API and DevOps
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication skills for building positive relationships
• A passion for breaking down large technical problems and finding ways to improve processes to come up with solutions that everyone can move forward
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, actively coaching and sharing knowledge
