Established in 1968, this historical Tavern is a cherished cornerstone of Mangere's community's history. A well established local hub for good times, offering more than just a place to unwind – providing an array of activities, from pool and darts to live sports, DJs, karaoke, and live local music throughout the week.
The Opportunity:
We're seeking an experienced Senior Duty Manager who is keen to be part of a team that values community and brings enthusiasm for creating memorable experiences for the Tavern's patrons.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervision & Evaluation of Staff - Facilitating inductions and training, and ensuring an excellent standard of customer service is maintained
- Operations - Organising and coordinating day to day business operations including events management, bookings and quotes for functions
- Reporting - Ensuring accurate and consistent record keeping, and preparing reports for senior management
- Marketing & Promotions - Providing support of the business' social media presence and promotional activities
- Quality Assurance - Handling and resolving customer issues, ensuring legislative compliance, policies and procedures are adhered to, and ensuring staff morale.
- Health & Safety - Ensuring requirements are met & maintained
- Rostered Bar Service

Skills & Experience:
- Current Duty Managers Certificate & Police Check required
- Proven management experience in the hospitality industry
- Hands-on customer service experience
- A solid understanding of industry quality standards, best practices & procedures
- Experience in the operation of gaming machines & TAB operations (desirable)
- Excellent organisational & leadership skills
- Problem-solving & critical thinking aptitude
- Exceptional communication & interpersonal skills
- The right to permanently live & work in New Zealand
