He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Emergency Management has an opportunity for a Senior Education and Youth Advisor to join this committed and community-facing team.
As a Senior Advisor, you’ll develop and deliver projects and programmes to encourage young people, schools and youth groups to become more prepared, confident and ready to respond in the next emergency. You’ll also manage outreach to early childhood centres, schools and tertiary institutions.

This role will be required to participate in Auckland Emergency Management’s 24/7 duty team roster and emergency response activations.

You’ll have the ability to engage young people and their whānau. Your skills and experience will include familiarity with the 4 R’s (Reduction, Readiness, Response and Recovery), clear communication and community development practice.
We’re looking for someone who can collaborate with trust and credibility. At times you might work in the context of uncertainty, drawing on your resilience and adaptability.
We are specifically looking for:
You’ll need to hold a current NZ driver’s licence, as you’ll be required to travel to various schools and communities.
