Senior Electrical Design Engineer (HV)

Our client is a leading provider of electrical engineering solutions, specializing in high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) projects. 

They are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with expertise in high voltage systems to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in protection experience with HV/MV distribution and/or transmission projects. They will be responsible for developing protection schemes, setting protection assets, and configuring relay systems, among other tasks. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate leadership qualities and a commitment to mentoring and training team members.

Responsibilities:

• Develop protection schemes, setting protection assets, and configuring relay systems for HV/MV distribution and transmission projects.
• Conduct power system analysis using tools such as DIgSILENT and Sincal.
• Lead technical discussions with clients to determine optimal solutions for their needs.
• Develop and review protection standards/philosophies for clients and internal use.
• Motivate, mentor, and train team members.
• Maintain a strong technical knowledge of specifications, standards, and codes.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a Washington Accord-accredited institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of post-graduate engineering experience in developing protection schemes, setting protection assets, and configuring relay systems.
• Experience in carrying out power system analysis using DIgSILENT and Sincal.
• CPEng accreditation, or on the path to achieving it.
• Strong analytical skills and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Passion for engineering and a commitment to excellence.

Salary: $120,000 to $160,000 depending on experience.
