Job Description - Senior Facilities and Maintenance Engineer

About the Role
You will take technical ownership of maintenance activities across site equipment, utilities, and infrastructure. This includes providing hands-on engineering support, leading complex fault finding and troubleshooting, and driving improvements in asset reliability and maintenance performance. You will also support capital projects, equipment commissioning, and system upgrades, ensuring all assets new and existing are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance across production equipment, utilities, and site facilities (HVAC, water, compressed air, freeze dryers, washers, etc.)
Lead fault finding and resolve complex equipment and infrastructure issues to minimise downtime
Provide hands-on technical support and engineering input across maintenance and troubleshooting activities
Maintain CMMS accuracy, including work orders, asset records, and maintenance documentation
Develop, review, and improve preventative maintenance plans, procedures, and technical standards
Drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, performance, and maintenance effectiveness
Support capital projects, including installation, commissioning, and integration of new equipment
Coordinate contractors and service providers to ensure safe, compliant delivery of maintenance work
Ensure compliance with GMP, quality systems, and health and safety requirements
About You:
You are a practical, hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and improving how things work. You will also bring:
10+ years’ experience in maintenance or manufacturing engineering roles
Strong troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, and utilities systems
Experience working with production equipment and industrial utilities
Confidence using CMMS systems and maintaining technical documentation
A proactive, reliability-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative engineering team
Strong communication skills and a practical, solution-focused approach
