Job Description - Senior Hosting Engineer

What’sthe mahi?

We are looking for a Senior Hosting Engineer to join the wider APAC team, to be based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Kirikiriroa Hamilton, Tauranga, Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington or Ōtautahi Christchurch. You will be part of the team responsible for the management of Aurecon’s IT infrastructure, delivering exceptional customer service whilst managing and maintaining different areas of infrastructure. You will support the team leader as a 2IC and help mentor and train more junior members.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as an escalation point for the resolution of complex technical incidents and problems from the Service Desk and key stakeholders,

  • Identifying Hosting requirements and promoting them into the Strategy & Architecture team for design, build, and delivery,

  • Engaging with project teams to ensure Operational Acceptance Criteria are clearly established and that services transition into operational use in a sustainable and secure manner,

  • Developing and maintaining key documentation including as-built, knowledge articles and driving good housekeeping regarding documentation, maintenance schedules and best practices,

  • Taking a leading role in the management of Hosting suppliers to Aurecon, ensuring they deliver to SLAs and escalating where necessary,

  • Applying skills and experience to coach and mentor junior team members

  • Providing support to the Hosting Services Team Leader, acting as 2IC when required,

  • Adhere to Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes as per Aurecon standards and within SLAs,

  • Being part of a rotating roster and on-call responsibilities (this includes handing after-hours escalations),

  • Working with offshore counterparts in an effective manner

    With at least 6 years of relevant experience and current eligibility to work in New Zealand, the ideal candidate will possess experience in the following:

  • Server management,

  • Microsoft 365,

  • Microsoft Azure administration,

  • Microsoft Server 2016 or above,

  • Microsoft Active Directory management (DNS, DHCP, Site Services, Group Policy, etc.),

  • Microsoft Exchange 2016 or above,

  • VMWare vSphere 7 or above,

  • Citrix CVADS, Linux, PowerShell scripting, SCCM patching, SCOM or other monitoring tools such as SolarWinds

  • The following experience would be of benefit to your application:

  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar

  • Industry Standard certifications such as Microsoft, VMWare, Azure, etc.,

  • ServiceNow

  • M365/MS Azure Architecture

  • Intune
