Job Description - Senior IT Support Specialist

Zoom Technologies is based in Mt Wellington & Pukekohe and provides professional IT support to clients in the Auckland area and beyond.

You will be part of a customer focused multi-talented team that has established a reputation for superb technical competency and service.

 

About the role

We are seeking an experienced I.T technician with solid wide ranging technical, troubleshooting and communication skills to join our growing team based in our Mt Wellington office. There may also be occasional travel to our Pukekohe office.

The role will provide onsite, remote, phone support and workshop based repairs primarily to our varied small and medium sized business client base either through managed service contracts or on an ad-hoc basis. Experience with supporting and configuring servers and ideally VOIP phone systems would also be required. Experience supporting printers and copiers would be advantageous.

Main Duties of the role will be:

  • Onsite support/troubleshooting & educating.
  • Phone & remote support.
  • Workshop repair (Hardware & Software).
  • Installing new equipment & software.
  • Quote preparation for hardware, software & labour.
  • Cloud Services setup & maintenance (ie. Office 365/Backup/DNS/Azure).
  • Installing and supporting Windows server and Remote Desktop Services hosts.
  • VOIP phone system configuration & support.
  • Printer & Multifunction device installation & support.
  • Time recording & billing.

Skills and experience

In addition to great technical skills you will possess a "can do" attitude, must have excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and be well presented. You will demonstrate initiative and confidence in your technical skills and enjoy troubleshooting complex customer technical issues. You will have the ability to sell both your own skills and our products and services to prospective clients. You will have the ability to mentor other team members in your areas of technical expertise.

You will have the technical skills to set up and maintain:

  • Windows Desktop and Server Operating systems (RDS also desirable).
  • Microsoft & 3rd party applications.
  • Smartphones/Tablets.
  • Printers & Scanners.
  • Networking Equipment (Routers/Firewalls/Switches/WiFi/NAS).
  • DNS and email systems.
  • Cloud Services.
  • VOIP (desirable).

To be eligible for consideration for this position you MUST :

  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand.
  • Have excellent English language communication skills.
  • Have extensive commercial IT experience.
  • Have a valid NZ drivers license.
  • Be able to attend interviews in person over the next month.
