Senior Laboratory Analyst

Alpha Laboratories Ltd is a leading nutraceutical and food manufacturer in New Zealand. We are currently seeking for highly motivated and proactive professional personnel with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience.

The Role:

The primary purpose of this position is to apply the candidate’s experience in analytical chemistry testing and lab operation to assist in the routine operation and compliance of a chemistry laboratory where samples of materials and products of health products are analysed and tested. The role will also involve day to day testing and other testing as and when required by the company.

You should have experience and proven ability in the following:

• A minimum of 3-year experience in instrumental testing such as HPLC, GC and/or ICP.
• Possess good knowledge and experience of chemistry testing and ability to verify testing data for release within the target timeline.
• Experience in the review and update of analytical testing method.
• Experience in managing the laboratory inventory including but not limited to chemicals, reagents, standards and consumables.
• Ability in leading Laboratory Investigation and troubleshooting.
• Experience in instrument calibration and maintenance. 
• Experience in development of new method or modifications and validation of instrument.
• Ability in the supervision and mentoring of junior laboratory analyst.
• Conducting tasks in a methodical and thorough manner within scheduled timeframe.
• Assisting in day-to-day operation for regulatory compliance as and when required.
• Ability to take initiative, work autonomously and can work as part of the team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer literacy skills.
