Senior Manager - Investment Banking

The Senior Manager – Investment Banking (SMIB) is themain licensed Broker/Capital Market Functionary, Trustee, Custodian andInvestment Manager, responsible for the Bank’s proprietary portfolio, as wellas client’s assets. The Senior Manager –IWMS functions as the lead registeredPrincipal, ensuring adherence to operational controls, including legal,corporate, and regulatory procedures and guidelines.

The duties to beperformed include, but are not limited to the following:

• Reviewsresearch and data, synthesizes complex and diverse information andprovides strategic advice to the Executive Management on area ofspecialization and responsibility
• Activelyparticipates in the development of strategies to position ACB for profitand growth
• Activelyleads and influences the implementation and achievement of the current andfuture strategic and operational plans as per approved corporate plans
• Worksin partnership with executive and senior management to ensure ongoing strategicforward thinking that forms the strategic and operational goals andleveraging wherever possible, technological solutions
• Reportsto the General Manager and relevant Board Committees on economic, tradeand other conditions and other factors, which may influence Management andBoard judgment in the formulation or modification of policy.
• Ensuressuccessful business development and delivery of services in aclient-focused environment with regard to the Investment Management,(Brokerage/Capital Markets Operations, Merchant Banking,Trustee/Custodian).
• Overseesthe management of the Bank’s investment portfolios in line with approvedpolicy.
• Identifiesand makes recommendations on investments for consideration by the Bank.
• Monitorsthe investment activity of the bank’s external asset managers to ensurecompliance with approved policy and coordination with the actions ofinternal asset managers
• Ensuresproper accounting for the Bank’s investment portfolio in according withInternational Accounting Standards.
• Reportson investment performance at an aggregate level to the InvestmentCommittee, Executive and Directors highlighting risk and strategies formitigating losses.
• Executesthe strategic vision for growth of brokerage and investment management feeincome for the Bank
• Ensuresthat client’s investments are managed with the same level of prudence asthat of the bank’s portfolios and in accordance with the client’sinvestment policy statement
• Ensuresthat all client’s brokerage transactions are executed in accordance withexisting operating procedures and in adherence to regulatory requirements
• Ensuresthat appropriate trading policies and procedures, consistent with theclients’ and Company’s risk parameters, are in place and enforced.
• Ensuresthat the full service brokerage operations of the Company are conducted inaccordance with statutes and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensurestargeted portfolio growth with optimum customer satisfaction.
• Ensuresdevelopment of financial products are suited to clients’ needs and riskprofile.
• Coordinatesthe arrangement and structuring of deals on behalf of issuing clientsincluding the necessary research, market analysis as well aslegal/regulatory and administrative procedures.
• Ensuresthe smooth and efficient dissemination of trading information as well asDepartment and specific account liquidity management.
• Ensuresthe optimization of financial performance and the continuing viability,profitability and growth of the Department.
• Monitorsthe quality and risk profile of assets.

Toperformthejobsuccessfully,theindividual must meet the following requirements:

• Acombination of a First Degree and Post Graduate qualification inAccounting, Banking, Economics, Finance, Investment or related fields
• CFA wouldbe an asset
• An ECSE principle license would be an asset
• Over 7 yearsof work experience in Banking or Finance industry
• 5 – 7 yearsin a senior leadership position in a bank or investment firm or unitwithin a Central or Commercial Bank
• At leastseven (7) years’ experience in investment banking field at a senior levelwith a track record of successfully meeting commitments and revenuetargets
• Proventrack record of inspirational leadership and credibility
• FinancialManagement and Investment Experience
• Strongcommunication and people management, interpersonal and influencing skillsto build strong business relationships, foster stakeholder engagement,create new partnerships and drive culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Exceptionalleadership and management skills with a focus on securing strategicpartnerships, business planning, people and financial management.
• Membershipwith relevant professional body;
