The role

This “hands-on” role is responsible for supporting the Applications Development Manager to develop software and unit testing in a .NET environment. The primary focus is back-end data processing development, with a small amount of UI. The role requires high levels of collaboration, engagement and initiative to ensure system solutions are successfully implemented within highly complex business environments. Our platform supports critical New Zealand infrastructure and processes high volumes of data, so software accuracy and integrity – with the ability to work autonomously are critical.
  
Key Responsibilities

• In consultation with the Applications Development Manager (ADM), develop technical solutions that are high quality, innovative and adhere to Panasonic New Zealand (PNZ) application development methodologies and coding standards.
• Perform direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing code bases to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements ensuring they are highly effective and efficient.
• Follow our commenting and naming conventions with attention to detail, spelling and avoiding incurring technical debt therein.
• Engage and negotiate with key stakeholders as a credible and knowledgeable technical specialist who adds tangible value to the business.
• Actively participate as a member of the team working to improve overall team performance by showing initiative in recommending, leading and participating in cross-functional team needs across the organisation.

  
Key Requirements:

• Several years development experience including .NET, Visual Studio, WebAPI, MSSQL, YAML
• Relevant tertiary qualification; BSc Computer Science, BE Software Eng, Mathematics degree or equivalent
• Strong understanding of web protocols and relational databases
• Robust knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing and troubleshooting)
• Comfortable with complex pipelines and deployed environments
• Scrum and Agile experience preferred
