We’re looking for a talented Operations Security Engineer to help us keep the  good energy flowing. 

In the interesting and varied role you will continuously enhance visibility, automation and detection using various threat intelligence and emulation techniques in the ever changing cyber threat landscape.  You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for adding value to our business through good service delivery governance and practices. 

Working as the senior member within a small team, you can expect to:

• Take actionable threat intelligence and turn it into new detection rules within our security tooling.
• Gather qualitative information about threat actors (e.g. indicators of compromise) to inform improvements that need to be made to our detection and monitoring functions.
• Provide cover for and act as an escalation for the Operations Security Analyst.
• Share technical knowledge and best practices to build team capability and stakeholder confidence.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to move into a senior role, and can be based at our offices in Wellington or Bell Block.

Along with your tertiary qualifications and 3+ years in security engineering position, you'll also have security certification such as Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate and Azure Security Engineer, and Darktrace Cyber Engineer.  You'll be a great communicator - able to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You'll need to be able to demonstrate expertise across a variety of security products including Microsoft Defender, Fortinet, and Darktrace.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Experience in performing threat research, threat hunting and maintaining a threat model. 

• Solid networking experience and/or edge security exposure.

• Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement of security monitoring and automation capabilities. 

• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 / 2, OWASP.
