Senior Platform Services Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Platform Services Engineer who will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of production services, applications and platform components across Plan B’s IT System landscape, including on premise and in the cloud.

As a technical lead, you will be a subject matter expert across the technology stack from server and storage hardware through to Platform and Operating systems and is responsible for operational excellence and service improvement across all assigned services, products, processes and toolsets.

Providing leadership and mentorship to team members and striving to improve upon the status quo.

Essential Qualification and Experience

• Tertiary qualification in the ICT field
• Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role
• Advanced VMware cloud experience is a must (vSphere, vCloud Director and/or NSX-T)
• Strong capacity, performance and lifecycle management experience.  
• Scripting and automation experience, i.e.: PowerShell
• Storage design, build and support experience (SAN, NAS and Object storage) 
• Servers design, build and support experience
• Good networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, Routing, VLANS, NAT etc)
• Change Enablement Procedures (ITIL)
• Quoting & Ordering
