Join us as a Senior Power Electronics Engineer for the Electrification Business area where your focus will be on nurturing and advancing cutting-edge Power Conditioning core technol-ogy. You will be driving innovation to achieve higher performance, reduce costs and boost operational efficiency through standardization and leveraging existing resources.

This position reports to the R&D Hardware Chapter Lead and based in Napier, New Zealand.

Your responsibilities

• Leading the design and maintenance of power electronics platforms below
• Semiconductor switching devices & topologies, gate drives
• Component specification & selection e.g. capacitors, inductors
• Heatsinks and thermal management, Filter design (differential mode, common mode, RFI)
• Circuit simulation and analysis, Energy storage (caps, batteries, flow cell..)
• EMC design/test, Reliability engineering
• International standards for product safety (CE & UL)
• Hands on practical experience of power testing
• Technology watch, innovation, collaborating with other teams on product developments

Your background

• Degree in Power Electronics engineering. Post graduate qualification de-sirable with more than 5 years of experience
• Design knowledge relating to Power electronics products
• Competent in a lab situation with test equipment (oscilloscopes)
• Adept problem solving, innovation, teamwork, attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication
