About the Role:

Primarily based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland, and reporting to the Construction Director, you will play a key leadership role across multiple projects and/or large, complex builds, providing overall project ownership of Apollo's projects from early design to practical completion.  You will be the one driving the projects all the way through including full cost control management and site team leadership.  

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Driving project strategy, including procurement approaches, programme methodology and commercial decision-making


• Managing risk, project reporting and stakeholder communication at a senior level


• Overseeing programme development and adherence, ensuring projects are delivered on or ahead of time


• Leading a strong health, safety and environmental culture, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across sites


• Providing mentorship and guidance to Project Managers and wider project teams to uplift capability across the business


• Full accountability for project financial performance, including budget establishment, forecasting, cost control and profitability

About You:

You will be a proven leader who will add value and continuously strive for the best.  Additionally, you will have the following attributes:

• 10+ years’ experience in commercial construction, including significant experience operating at a senior project management level
  


• Demonstrated success delivering large-scale or multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion


• Comprehensive knowledge in NZ commercial construction law & methodology
  


• Strong commercial acumen, including contract knowledge, financial management and risk mitigation


• Strong ability to foster and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders
  


• Lead and inspire a collaborative project team
  


• High level competency in MS Project and Excel – Procore & Jobpac experience would be an advantage
  


• Strong work ethic and a conscientious attitude
  


• Practical New Zealand design and build commercial construction experience


• Willingness to travel Monday–Friday if required in the future
