Transforming Auckland's transport network on such a mammoth scale is no easy feat, and we need a talented team to ensure we are up to this task.
A new programme has been developed to provide a more robust and efficient public transport network on our roads. As a Senior Project Manager at AT, you will be able to directly shape the face of Auckland by facilitating change and delivering a better, faster, and safer transport network in our communities.
The role involves:
- Working closely alongside an experienced programme manager to deliver a high-priority programme of public transport routes and infrastructure on our road network.
- Management of construction, detailed design, stakeholder engagement, procurement, and standard engineering contracts (e.g. NZS:3910).
- Establishing and leading project teams from within AT and externally to enable the successful delivery of AT business objectives and optimise time, cost, and quality project performance outcomes.
- Leading complex tender processes, implementing procurement strategies and effective governance arrangements to monitor supplier and contractor performance.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure project alignment and support.
- Internal and external project reporting, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and transparency during delivery.
- Ensuring project strategies, plans and activities incorporate organisational and workplace safety.
- Providing coaching to junior project members to develop knowledge of project management best practices.
- Relevant industry-recognised tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, or project management - bachelor, diploma or certificate
- Preferably with 8 years' post graduate experience in engineering or project management
- Proven experience as a project manager or similar role, with a track record of successfully managing complex projects or a program of projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively monitor and report on financials, scheduling, safety, and risks.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).the MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and software for the management of business processes (e.g. SAP or similar)
- Relevant postgraduate or professional qualification (PMP or PRINCE2 or equivalent)
- Full membership of relevant professional body
- 3 years' experience within a leadership role
- Recognised as a Subject Matter Expert in Project Management.
