We have an exciting 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Senior Project Manager – Investor Engagement to lead the design and delivery of an Investor Engagement and Activation Programme focused on welcoming high-impact investor migrants to Auckland. This role will be key to converting investor interest into active economic, investment, and civic contribution by helping investors connect into business and innovation ecosystems, and build long-term relationships with Tāmaki Makaurau.


 


In this role, you will:


 



  • Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive 12-month action plan, including clear objectives, milestones, success measures, and budget management.

  • Design and operationalise a structured investor engagement journey, supporting high-value investor migrants from pre-arrival and arrival through to activation, retention, and long-term connection.

  • Build trusted relationships with investor migrants, government agencies, founders, private sector partners, investment networks, angel groups, VCs, business networks, innovation hubs, and sector clusters.

  • Facilitate pathways for investors to engage in Auckland’s economic, innovation, philanthropic, and civic opportunities, while supporting digital outreach and content through channels such as InvestAKL and LinkedIn

We’re looking for someone with strong project management capability and the confidence to plan, coordinate, and deliver multi-stakeholder action plans with precision, adaptability, and pace. You’ll bring excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain productive relationships across government, business, investment, and innovation sectors. A strong understanding of international trade, investment attraction, partnership development, and cross-cultural engagement will be key, along with the ability to align diverse interests, formalise partnerships, and identify tangible opportunities that deliver economic and strategic value for Auckland. Confidence using digital tools and social media channels to support engagement and outreach will also be important.


 


To be successful in this role, you will bring:


 



  • At least five years’ project management experience, with a proven ability to deliver agreed objectives and achieve results in complex environments.

  • Senior-level relationship and stakeholder management experience, including the ability to build, maintain, and leverage trusted relationships across sectors.

  • Strong understanding of New Zealand’s economic, business, and investment environment, with experience in contract negotiation and management.

  • Financial management experience, including project cost tracking, supported by highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
