He angitūtanga | The opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager – Māori Outcomes to lead the delivery of medium to high complexity capital works and renewals projects that contribute to Auckland Council’s Māori Outcomes Strategy. As part of a wider network of kaupapa Māori kaimahi, this role combines strong project delivery expertise with a commitment to embedding Māori outcomes across programmes of work. • Overseeing financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and accurate reporting across project systems.

  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety, governance, and council frameworks, while supporting continuous improvement and mentoring team members.

A well-organised, solutions-focused approach is key, alongside confidence navigating ambiguity and making sound decisions. Importantly, you will value and bring mātauranga Māori into your work, with an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ideally te reo me ōna tikanga Māori.

You bring:

  • At least 10 years’ experience delivering capital works and renewals projects.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, architecture, or a related field, with project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) preferred.
