About the role

Stonewood Group has a mixed-use property development project consisting of retail spaces, restaurants and over 300-room upper upscale hotel and is seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team!  You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management throughout the construction lifecycle. From initial project planning to final cost analysis and collaborate closely with Project Director, Project Managers, Commercial QS, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead costs.


• Develop and maintain project budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.


• Conduct thorough cost analysis and risk assessments to anticipate potential budget overruns and mitigate financial risks.


• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.


• Monitor project progress, conduct and document meetings and oversee scheduling and procurement of subcontractors and suppliers.


• Monitor project progress and expenditures, providing regular financial reports and updates to stakeholders.


• Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and alternative cost-saving solutions.


• Ensure accurate assessment and processing of payment claims and variation requests.


• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and effectively manage project records.


• Ensure compliance with company policies, such as health and safety, procedures, and quality standards throughout the project. 

About you:

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant industry experience in quantity surveying or related field.


• Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or related field.


• Proven commercial construction experience preferred in hotel development.


• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.


• Experience with forecasting, cost reporting.


• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.


• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
