The role

As Senior Risk Partner, you’ll play a pivotal role in embedding strong, practical risk management practices across Vector - particularly in asset management and operational teams. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and frontline teams to ensure risk is actively considered in day-to-day decisions, and that controls are robust and effective. Your work will include conducting targeted assurance reviews, providing insights and advice, and supporting the integration of enterprise risk principles into operational planning and delivery.

This is a highly visible, business-facing role where you’ll build strong relationships with operational leaders, help shape a proactive risk culture, and drive continuous improvement. You’ll have the autonomy to influence outcomes, support key decision-making processes, and contribute to both immediate operational success and long-term strategic objectives.

Reporting to the General Manager Risk & Resilience, you’ll be at the heart of Vector’s efforts to deliver safe, reliable, and innovative energy solutions for Auckland.

Who are we looking for?

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in operational risk management, ideally within complex or asset-intensive environments
• Proven ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights for a range of audiences
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and inclusive approach
• Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement and innovation
• Experience working in or alongside large infrastructure or asset management organisations is highly regarded.
