Job Description - Senior Sales Manager

The company:   Bayleys Canterbury is part of New Zealand's largest full service real estate agency. Their four expert teams – Residential, Residential Property Management, Country and Commercial – have specialist expertise in marketing and managing property in Christchurch and Canterbury.   Based in the heart of Rangiora, you'll find a team of property experts who have deep local roots and a rich knowledge of the North Canterbury property market. They have a diverse sales team, spanning across, the rural, lifestyle and residential property sectors and they pride themselves in helping clients tap into the massive power of the Bayleys network to maximise the value of their real estate assets. This role will also lead the Hamner office that provide both residential and commercial expertise.   Bayleys Canterbury are deeply committed to the local community, supporting local legends like the Crusaders and Matatu, the Christchurch City Mission, the Christchurch Art Gallery, Surfing for Farmers, and the Rural Support Trust, as well as schools, sports teams, and not-for-profit organisations across Canterbury.    They are now on the hunt for an experienced Sales Manager to join their well established and high performing team in the Rangiora office. Due to exceptional growth in the North Canterbury region there is a huge amount of opportunity to grow the success of the business.   The opportunity:   Reporting to the Head of Agency – Sales, the Sales Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, coaching, and compliance guidance to a high-performing and dynamic sales team. Duties include:   Submissions, Listings, and Completed Sales: Oversee the process of submitting proposals, managing property listings, and ensuring successful completion of sales transactions.   Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that all sales activities meet company standards and regulatory requirements.   Marketing: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective sales strategies, promotional campaigns, and materials to drive sales performance.   R ecruitment: Manage the recruitment process by identifying talent, conducting interviews, and onboarding new team members to strengthen the sales team.   People Management and Leadership: Provide mentorship, coaching, and support to team members to foster their professional development and enhance their performance.   Activity Management: Monitor and analyse sales activities, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and optimize sales efficiency.   Financial Oversight: Manage budgetary resources effectively and efficiently to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.   There is an exceptional remuneration package on offer – that comprises a competitive base salary, factor payments, bonus, car allowance, phone, laptop and other paid expenses.   The ideal candidate:   To be successful in this role you will have your Real Estate Salesperson license with proven outstanding team leadership and management skills. Great at building key relationships with clients and the community you will thrive in an environment that exceeds sales targets and budgets. Prior experience with contracts, AML, and legal compliance as required by the REA is key.   Financially astute you will possess strong marketing skills and an understanding of database marketing and maintenance.
