Senior Software Engineer-Network Management Systems - Energetic Workplace

About the role:

Aviat Networks, Inc. is the leading expert in wireless transport solutions and works to provide dependable products, services and support to its customers. To enhance our services and Product design we are seeking a senior software engineer in our Network Mgmt Systems & Automation, Product Development team. Our business is technology focused, with our core competency lying in the development of high-performance wireless telecommunications and network management products.

 You will be part of the provision team as a senior member, your work will include engaging with different Technologies and applying those to monitor device, control systems, Data communications, network mgmt protocols (NETCONF or SNMP), Telecoms networking (e.g. MPLS or VLAN services. 

About you: 

We’re looking for an experienced senior software engineer to join our team, contributing expertise to the development of our next generation network & service management platform.

Tasks to be undertaken include: 

• Design and development of product framework capabilities. 
• Development of software features including server and client-side development 
• Requirements analysis, software design, implementation and unit testing, and problem solving
• Mentoring and coaching

Skill and experience

• Min 8 yrs of experience in similar work environment.
• Experience in Software product development 
• NMS (Network Management Systems) or similar experience (e.g. IoT, monitoring systems, control systems)
• Knowledge of server-side and client-side design and development 
• In-depth experience in server-side framework, and client-side design and development
• Strong analysis, software design, and problem-solving skills 
• User interface design & development with modern client frameworks (ideally Vue.js) 
• Node.js, JavaScript, Typescript development 
• Agile Scrum or Kanban
• Telecommunications networking (IP/MPLS, VLAN) is desirable but not a must have.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree (Engineering or Computer Science) advanced software engineering experience, preferably in the telecommunications and networking domain.
