Are you a dynamic and results-driven individual with a passion for technical solutions and market engagement? Join our team at ITW as a Senior Structural Engineer for our Ramset Business Unit and play a pivotal role in driving the master & project specification process, providing technical support and advice to our sales team and key customers, and contributing to the achievement of our technical, growth, and strategic objectives.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the charge in driving key project specification of ITW solutions. You will collaborate closely with the Sales Team and our distributors to maintain specifications and facilitate alternate specifications as required. Your expertise will ensure compliance with design and performance standards while delivering on our technical goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively partner with the segment sales team in client relationship management;
• Perform technical presentations to design engineers/specifiers and be the face of Ramset Business Unit in front of this stakeholder group;
• Evaluate customer needs, develop applications (design) proposals and manage project delivery to meet the customer needs;
• Provide Technical Advice and preliminary design solutions;
• Manage and deliver selected project design work, components of design and internal technical activities;
• Provide industry insights to the marketing department and broader business, and actively participate in industry events;
• Execute a holistic systems design cycle approach across multiple projects;
• Oversee regular technical reviews to timeliness, efficiency and design solution quality;
• Prepare designs, specifications, reports and other projects documentation in line with segment, customer requirements and engineering guidelines;
• Provide monthly reporting of engineering, business development and specification activities; and
• Washington Accord tertiary qualification in civil / structural engineering, or equivalent.

About You;

• Experience in design and construction of concrete and steel structures in major projects;
• Strong technical acumen and a logical approach to problem solving;
• Commercial experience within the construction industry or similar industries;
• Development and use of digital construction technologies including BIM is desirable;
• Strong communication and commercial skills with a proven ability to translate customer problems into viable engineered solutions;
• Effective leadership skills, holding oneself and others accountable;
• Proficiency in building and influencing internal and external relationships;

• Working knowledge of NZ relevant standards: NZS 3101, NZS 3404 , NZS 3604, NZS 4219, AS/NZS 1170;
• Chartered Professional Engineer and Charted Member of Engineering New Zealand highly regarded;

• Commitment to promoting a safety culture and driving continuous improvement;
• Ability to prioritise, focus, and make informed, data driven decisions; and
