Senior Transport Planner

Dunedin City is changing with our population growing, new developments going ahead such as the New Dunedin Hospital build and the implementation of our carbon Zero plan. We are looking for a proactive and forward-thinking Senior Transport Planner who can help us plan and deliver policies and projects to improve Dunedin's transport network.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Transport Planner you will be focussed on developing exciting projects such as the Mosgiel Transport Plan, contribute to the development of the Regional Land Transport Plan, research and monitor the performance of our transport services and strategies and liaise with our transport partners, stakeholders, interest groups and members of the public.

You will be part of the transport planning and transport strategy team and there will be the opportunity for you to become involved in the wide range of activities that are delivered within these teams, the Transport Department and Council. This will include infrastructure projects to improve safety and travel options for people and freight, involvement in regulatory processes and comm's and engagement processes.

Ideally you will have

• A relevant tertiary qualification
• 3 or more years transport planning experience
• Experience with NZ Transport Agency funding mechanisms
• A proven ability to plan and implement transport projects
• Excellent coordinating and communication skills
• An eye for detail together with a passion for delivering future focused Transport outcomes.
