Senior/Junior Electrical Design Engineer - Room for Advancement

Due to significant growth in our busy Christchurch office we seek expressions of interest from suitably experienced and qualified applicants for two new roles in our organization.

Senior Design Engineer – CAD

This role will suit an experienced industrial electrician or electrical engineer who has an appreciation of low voltage (<1000V) electrical installations in New Zealand with a particular focus on low voltage switchgear design and drawing.

You will work in a modern, collaborative environment to produce detailed design drawings for client approval and manufacturing for a wide variety of bespoke projects.

An awareness of relevant standards and design principles would be required to enable success in this largely autonomous role.

Significant opportunity exists for the right person to grow this role into customer-facing consultancy and commercial leadership within our organization.

Trainee Electrical Designer – CAD

A trainee position is available for a suitable applicant who has experience as an electrician in the New Zealand electrical industry and who seeks to change-gear into a design and drawing role.

Training will be provided within an experienced team of engineers and production staff. This is a ground floor opportunity for the right person, with significant opportunity for development and promotion within our organization.

The skills we seek

• Experience in design and manufacture of low voltage switchgear
• Familiarity and experience with CAD drawing packages
• Understanding of current New Zealand electrical industry practice
• Experience in electrical design and the application of applicable standards
• Current electrical practicing licence or equivalent qualification
