Service Electrician – Fuel/Energy | EV | Technology

About the Role
We’re after a unicorn electrician — someone who loves variety, challenges, and learning across multiple fields.
This role works across three core divisions — Fuel, EV, and Technology — keeping ECL’s infrastructure running and evolving. You’ll install, commission, service and maintain everything from fuel systems and EV chargers to payment and network technology. One week you might be fault-finding on a forecourt controller, the next you’re installing a DC fast charger or upgrading site technology.
You’ll be part of a high-performing technical team that’s building the future of New Zealand’s mobility and energy network.
Install, maintain and service electrical, fuel and tech systems nationwide
Commission and fault-find EV charging infrastructure and forecourt controls
Work on Point of Sale (POS), Back Office Systems (BOS), and connected site technologies
Deliver all work safely and to high technical standards
Collaborate with project managers, civil teams, and other ECL divisions
Travel will be a part of the role. Covering the South Island (all expenses covered)
About You
You’re a Registered Electrician with a current NZ practising licence — or the ability to meet EWRB requirements if you’re trained overseas.
You thrive on solving technical problems, learning new systems, and working in environments that mix mechanical, electrical, and digital tech.
5–7 years’ hands-on electrical experience
Electrical Hazardous Area endorsement
A solid understanding of electrical systems and a willingness to upskill in EV and technology systems
Confidence with networks, low-voltage cabling, or POS/BOS systems
Great communication and customer service skills — you’re the face of ECL on-site
Strong commitment to safety
A full NZ driver’s licence
