Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand’s Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.


 


To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions: effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

About the role


The Service Improvement Manager supports the development of the regulatory service improvement strategy and owns the continuous improvement framework. This role uses insights from across the group to make recommendations on improvements that enable Te Tari Pūreke to meet its strategic objectives and become a responsive regulator.


 


You will:



  • Own and maintain a continuous improvement framework

  • Coordinate delivery of service improvement projects and work programmes

  • Analyse processes and lead change initiatives to improve efficiency

  • Build strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders


 


This is a leadership role with direct reports, requiring strategic thinking, strong relationship management, and a solutions-focused mindset.


 


 


 


Key Deliverables:



  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy

  • Coordinate communication of improvements and changes across workstreams

  • Support delivery of better value and efficiency through process improvement

  • Monitor risks and issues and ensure timely resolution

  • Complete post-implementation reviews and identify future improvements

  • Build collaborative relationships across Te Tari Pūreke and wider Police

Salary 


This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $142,124.00 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
