Job Description - Service Manager

About the role


We’re looking for a Service Manager to join one of New Zealand’s most established service and maintenance providers in the fuels industry. You’ll report to the Regional Manager and lead end-to-end service delivery—people, customers, safety, and performance—from Wellsford to Bluff.


Your day-to-day will centre on:



  • Leading, coaching and developing field teams to deliver right-first-time outcomes.

  • Front-footing customer relationships with regular on-site engagement.

  • Owning safety, quality and compliance standards at every job.

  • Taking accountability for branch performance—planning resources, managing contracts, and lifting productivity.

  • Tracking the numbers (budget, margin, pricing) and spotting growth opportunities.


You’re comfortable having the tough conversations, you value transparency, and you take full ownership of your business unit’s results.



About you:



  • You are a qualified electrician with industrial experience.

  • Strong grasp of maintenance services, contract management and field operations.

  • Proven leadership that builds a positive, inclusive, high-performance culture.

  • Confidence managing HR and HSE processes and documentation.

  • Commercial acumen across budgets, branch financials and pricing.

  • A proactive approach to business development and customer care.

  • Clear, professional communication—written and verbal.
