He angitūtanga: The opportunity

Auckland Council’s Customer and Shared Services (CSS) division has an opportunity for a Shared Services Catalogue Manager to join the CSS Executive Office team. 

This is a newly established role that will help shape how shared services are defined, governed, measured and improved across Council and its council-controlled organisations (CCO’s).

You'll be responsible for maintaining the service catalogue as the single source of truth for CSS services, whilst helping establish the foundations needed for a modern, customer-focused shared services model.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, improving the way organisations work, and influencing positive change across multiple teams.

You could expect to work on:

• developing and improving the CSS service catalogue and service portfolio


• working with key stakeholders and customers to define services, ownership and standards


• supporting service reviews, documentation and governance


• identifying opportunities to improve service performance and customer outcomes


• working with Finance, service owners and leaders to connect services, costs and value

He kōrero mōu: About you

This role requires experience in service management, service delivery, product management, business improvement or customer-focused operational environments. You may have gained this experience within large, complex organisations, shared services environments, technology or customer-centric businesses.

We will be looking for specific experience with the key role requirements:

• developing, managing or improving service catalogues, service portfolios or product/service offerings 


• working across multiple business teams to define services, ownership and accountability


• supporting service governance, reviews or continuous improvement initiatives


• analysing information and translating it into practical recommendations and actions


• building trusted relationships and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
