Job Description

Imagine having a true work-life balance located in the stunning region of Otago. Your days off are available for hiking, adventuring, fishing, and skiing in winter.

This role is accountable for scheduling short term operational maintenance activities that are required to occur within the 7-day plan, as per the maintenance strategy and long-term component forecasts. You will be responsible for manipulating the weekly maintenance plan as required, to meet production and workshop priorities. This position requires knowledge of mobile plant maintenance, mobile plant maintenance strategies and the ability to navigate the CMMS, specifically, Pronto.  . 

Key responsibilities:

  • Promote continuous improvement and demonstrate this through supporting the maintenance team along with successful implementation of projects that deliver in the categories of Safety, Productivity, Efficiency or Cost.
  • Assist with the training and development of co-workers to enable adequate coverage.
  • Ensure all critical safety systems are maintained in the planning schedules
  • Communicate with Production & Execution teams to ensure 100% compliance to weekly plan and required maintenance activities are undertaken with minimal impact to Operations.
  • Assist Tactical Maintenance Planner with the assembly of work packs and amendments to work packs as required.
  • Upload all approved backlogs into the CMMS (Pronto) ensuring accuracy and correctness of entry.
  • Manage WIP cost by looking for opportunities during maintenance events to execute defects.
  • Schedule repairs and servicing of all nominated fixed plant, support and workshop equipment ensuring minimal down time and prioritisation in accordance with business requirements and strategy.
  • Identify and submit appropriate suggestions for additions and/or changes to maintenance strategies via the strategy change request process.
  • Where necessary, compile Bill of Materials (BOM) for standard jobs / routines.
  • Provide assistance to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent in regards to departmental budget details, planning, scheduling and forecasting of work priority as required.

Qualifications

  • Trade Certified with minimum 4 years post trade experience.
  • Full and current Drivers Licence, competent driving manual vehicles.
  • Prior experience in a Leading Hand or Supervision role.
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office suit of programs).
  • Basic understanding of financial principles (Budgeting, forecasting etc.)
