Mai te hiku ki te taurapa, whitikina e te rā
From the tail of the fish to the tail of the waka, shines the sun
Meridian is Aotearoa’s largest renewable electricity producer, generating power from 100% renewable sources—wind, water, and sun!
Mō te tūranga | What you’ll be doing
You’ll oversee all works required to ensure the wind farm assets are available and reliability operating at our iconic Te Uku wind farm in the stunning surroundings of the North Island's upper west coast. You’ll be responsible for ensuring work is planned and completed safely for our people and all other stakeholders. Your leadership and organisational skills will be in a manner that ensures we meet our electricity generation output targets. You will be our ‘point person’ on site and will serve as the key link to the various other disciplines that support, guide, and advise on wind farm operations.
The focus of the role will encompass Site Owner responsibilities, as well as site growth, readiness, and initiative duties.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and influencing a workplace culture that celebrates safe work practices, thereby creating an environment where it is safe to challenge
Ensuring that we’re responding to the highest-priority needs of our customers and stakeholders across the Generation team in a timely and transparent manner
Building strong relationships to manage tension between site production demands and asset health effectively
Responding to and managing unplanned plant outages, taking into account risk and loss of generation in doing so.
Collaborating with our customer, Maintenance, Planning and Engineering teams to prioritise our response where needed
Site Owner representation at a selection from the following North Island new site/s, including Te Rere Hau Wind Farm, Manawatu BESS, Mt Munro Wind Farm, and Hau Nui
Involvement in site operational readiness at our Harapaki wind farm, Ruakaka BESS/Solar and future sites
Project managing initiatives such as 'working at height', drop zones, site water treatment and technical maintenance plans
*Please note, we're looking for someone based in the upper North Island.
