Our Finance function provides several critical services that underpin the success and long-term financial sustainability of Police - from ensuring our people and suppliers are paid to maintaining compliance with public sector legislation and standards. We are trusted to provide strategic and practical financial advice to support sound decision making, value for money, and effective stewardship of public funds. 


 


To support the delivery of these outcomes, the Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting (FPAR) team leads the development of an integrated Financial Planning, Modelling and Reporting approach that enables Police to deliver on its strategy, make investment choices and manage change sustainability. 


 


The FPAR team are trusted advisors providing strategic, commercial and financial advice across Police, to the Executive Leadership Team and Senior leaders within the business. The team delivers financial planning, financial analysis, financial modelling, financial performance reporting and tracks delivery against our Strategy. 


 


We are now seeking a Senior Analyst – Financial Planning and Modelling to join our team. This role will support the Manager Financial Planning, Analysis and Reporting to deliver accurate financial information on Police’s financial planning to the Executive and other internal/external stakeholders together with providing high quality analysis, insight and modelling to support planning, budgeting, and decision making.  


 


 


Key Accountabilities:


 



  • Lead enterprise budget consolidation models, integrating inputs, ensuring robust mapping, reconciliation, controls and scenario analysis. 

  • Develop and maintain enterprise financial models that support strategic decision making. 

  • Support the financial planning process and provide high quality financial analysis and insights.  

  • Analyse actual expenditure against budget and highlight any potential risks and issues.  

  • Provides expert advice on general accounting and financial management matters.  

  • Identify and promote opportunities for business process improvement, in particular relating to the FMIS, reporting tools and enterprise technology.  

  • Develop and implement tools and processes to allow the business to provide a robust financial forecast

  • Ensure the integrity of financial information provided to internal and external users. 



  • Deadline oriented and an ability to deliver within challenging timeframes.

Utu ā-tau | Salary 


 


This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425 and $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
