Friendship House is working from a multidisciplinary holistic and innovative approach and perspective. We are looking for a qualified, experienced and mature-minded social worker to be part of the Social Practice Team. We are only considering social workers who are new graduates or have up to 2 years experience. 

The successful applicants will have:

• A qualification in Social Work and registration with ANZASW/SWRB or the ability to obtain registration (This is a must have). Only those meeting this criteria should apply.
• Excellent cross-cultural skills with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is culturally competent to work with all diverse cultures.
• Experience working with a range of professional disciplines, models of practice for best & safe practice and to achieve contractual outcomes.
• Knowledge & experience in working with family violence, Care and Protection, Alcohol and Other Drugs. mental health etc.
• The ability and skills to work with people especially faced with challenging behaviours.
• Good computer skills, and great verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability in more than one language is an advantage.
• A full clean driver’s license.
• Ability to work in New Zealand and living in New Zealand

• To provide social work support for whanau and individuals in working together to ensure safety of whanau and supporting them to achieve their desired goals.
• To support whanau/individuals to maintain and sustain changes they need towards their well-being.
• Working with others to develop innovative and sustainable services with individuals, couples, and families/whanau.
