We are looking for an energetic and passionate social worker to join our dynamic team of community-based social workers working in Mangere.  The ideal applicant will be able to work within a multicultural community.

Key responsibilities

• community-based, family-led social work interventions
• advocacy
• group work to meet identified needs

Essential skills and attributes

• Able to develop rapport and effective partnerships within multicultural communities, especially Maori and Pacific Island communities
• Ability to develop strong relationships with families
• Confident in navigating the education system 
• Shows initiative and a high level of accountability
• Can assess the strengths and needs of whanau/families to formulate whanau lead plans
• Can maintain and grow professional networks to support children and families
• Willingness to learn and a team player
• New Zealand Social Work Registration, working towards registration or registerable with the SWRB
• A current driver’s license and own vehicle
