The ideal candidate must have a high degree of maturity, great leadership skills, be a team player, and be able to positively engage and educate potential customers. 

Key Responsibilities 

  •  Assessing locations to ensure they are suitable for solar panels.
  • Measuring areas for installation
  • Adjusting building surfaces so panels fit and are adequately supported.
  • Installing and maintaining solar panels on homes, business premises or open land
  • Connecting solar panels to an electrical system
  • Grounding electrical equipment and checking wiring
  • Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines
  • Performing maintenance checks and fixing solar panels
  • Using a variety of technical equipment and tools
  • Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid.
  • Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.
  • Inspects electrical installation and wiring.
  • Tests operating voltages.
  • calibrates to ensure systems are within acceptable power limits.
  • Ensures that equipment is weather sealed.
  • Performs routine maintenance on PV systems.
  • Mount the panels on the client's roof or in another location.
  • Providing customers with information about the benefits of solar energy as an alternative energy source
  • Installing new solar panel systems on residential, commercial, or industrial buildings
  • Installing new solar panels on roofs or in parking lots using
    cranes and other heavy machinery

  • Installing new solar panel components or replacing damaged parts to existing solar panel systems
  • Installing wiring for solar panel systems that are not connected to the electrical grid.
  • Installing inverters that convert the DC power generated by solar panels into AC power that can be used in homes or businesses.
  • Installing batteries that store electricity from solar panels for use when it is dark or cloudy.

Qualifications 

Must have at least 3 year + experience as an Electrician with knowledge of Commercial and Domestic wiring.

Tertiary Qualification of Diploma and above in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Environment & Sustainability, Renewable Energy, or any other related field.

Experience in the solar industry will be given preference but is not mandatory. 

  • Ability to learn new technology, policies and work procedures
  • Proven track record in working in a target driven environment
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to use sound judgment in the qualifying process
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible with competent ability to plan and
  • prioritize work in a fast paced, high volume work environment
