Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
Legal work for Manatū Taonga is hugely varied and interesting, and includes policy development and law reform, public law, procurement and contracting, privacy and official information, providing wide ranging legal opinions, drafting taonga tūturu applications to the Māori Land Court, and Treaty of Waitangi related issues. As well as strong internal relationships we work closely with our Crown entities and other funded agencies.

This position is a member of our small and friendly Legal Team. The successful candidate must be able to hold a current legal practising certificate. Two to five years post admission experience is preferred however less experience will be considered based on relevant knowledge and skills.

You will have excellent relationship and people skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a small and agile team. With a can do / positive attitude, you are someone who gets things done with a proactive approach.
A high standard of accuracy is really important in this role along with superb communication skills, initiative and the ability to work to deadlines are essential.
