The NZSIS Data and Insights Unit have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect to join our team. Specialising in digital collaboration systems, you'll improve the experience our staff have with information and data systems, and oversee some revolutionary changes in the way we work.

About the role

We need your help to ensure we get the most out of our investments into Microsoft-based collaboration environments. This is an influential role in which you'll be responsible for design excellence and for developing the technical and governance standards that will help the NZSIS and wider New Zealand Intelligence Community get the most from its information holdings and diverse workforce.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Design, develop and oversee business solutions right across our intelligence and protective security work.
• Ensure that the enabling functions that sit at the heart of NZIC are able to be as agile and connected as our work demands.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally you will have:

• Several years of experience in a senior IT engineering role within complex environments.
• Significant experience with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 architectures to support collaboration and information management needs.
• The ability to design and implement solutions.
• Experience governing systems to help organisations get the most out of the information they hold.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
