Job Description - Specialist Clinician


Are you a compassionate and dedicated clinician with a passion for helping young people navigate complex emotional and behavioural challenges?


 


We are seeking a Specialist Clinician to join our dynamic team, focusing on children exhibiting concerning or harmful sexualised behaviour.


 


What you'll be doing



  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing and implementing tailored intervention plans 

  • Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy

  • Collaborating with whanau, schools and other professionals to ensure a holistic, coordinated approach to care

  • Maintaining thorough client records and participating in clinical review processes

What we're looking for



  • Recognised qualification in psychology, counselling, social work or a related mental health discipline

  • Significant experience working with children in a clinical setting, ideally in the area of concerning and harmful sexualised behaviour

  • Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapeutic approaches

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build rapport with children and whanau

  • A collaborative approach to working with clients, families and other relevant professionals

  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality holistic intervention

  • Registration with the appropriate professional body (e.g. NZPB, NZAC)
