TŪRANGA   THE ROLE   Sterile Sciences Technician 

Permanent 0.8 FTE rostered between Monday to Friday 

This is a busy SSD in a Hospital operating theatre environment. Our 5 theatres cover a multitude of different specialties including having an Endoscopy Unit.

This is an additional role to support our current team and our growing needs. 

Duties include the collection, decontamination, sorting, packing/wrapping and sterilisation of reusable medical devices across a variety of Sterilisation Methods, Steam, Sterrad and Endoscopy Soluscope Sprint. There is also the day to day managing of loans equipment.

Shifts are 8 hours and start and finish times will vary between 7 am through to 8pm

We have a very stable and experienced team who have enjoyed working together for quite some time. Because every day is different and there are moments of pressure, flexibility, reliability and giving each other support is critical team culture. 

The following are essential for this role: 

New Zealand Certificate in Sterilising Technology  Level 4 

Current or previous experience across an SSD operating theatre environment  

Experience with Loan equipment and Endoscopy Processing 

Ability to work across a variety of shifts  

A sustainability and environmentally friendly lens on your work.
