The University of Auckland is seeking a Student Services Insights Analyst to join our high-performing Planning and Information Office.
The Student Services Insights Analyst role is focused on the strategic, tactical and operational information needs of the University. The role will meet the information needs of senior Student and Academic Services staff, and their stakeholders, through understanding, enhancing, and drawing actionable insights from the student services related information available in the University’s Data and Analytics platform.
The Student Services Insights Analyst role is embedded within Student and Academic Services and reports to the Planning and Information Office. The role will contribute to the University’s Analyst network, providing data and subject matter expertise, and advice to optimise the design and implementation of BI solutions that deliver value, and surface actionable data-driven insights for internal customers.
This is a fulltime (37.5 hours/ week) permanent opportunity, with a salary range will be between $83,300-$89,200 and will be dependent on experience.

About the team | Mō tō mātou rōpū
The Planning and Information Office (PIO) is the unit within the University that leads and coordinates strategic and operational planning for the University. This is achieved by providing a range of information, support and advice, including the provision of strategic, tactical and operational information; monitoring and assessing the institution’s performance; coordinating the planning process and developing; data science, data governance and maintaining the University’s repositories of business information.
PIO collates, analyses and publishes a wide range of information to meet internal and external reporting and quality assurance requirements, ensuring that the information produced is nuanced to provide intelligence which reflects the external policy environment and supports internal needs. The Office has primary responsibility for the development and implementation of key performance indicators that monitor the achievement of the University’s Strategic Plan, monitoring and advising on the quality of institutional information, supports the development and maintenance of the University Data Warehouse and provides a range of analyses from structured and un-structured data sources.
While reporting through to the Planning and Information Office, this role will be embedded within the Student and Academic Services team and as such will have contact with stakeholders across the Student Services Function.
