Trackside is New Zealand’s premier racing broadcaster, delivering live coverage across multiple channels every day. As a Studio Director, you’ll sit at the centre of this operation, where live content, precision, timing, and teamwork come together.

You’ll direct engaging, consistent, and dynamic programming while making fast decisions in a live broadcast environment. Your work will help ensure our customers receive a high-quality viewing experience and that every race and programme is delivered accurately and professionally.

Your Impact 

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, 24/7 operation. The position is part-time, working 48 hours over a fortnight, with shifts across days, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Here’s a snapshot of your day to day:

• Direct live and recorded programming across Entain’s delivery channels, ensuring accurate, high-quality broadcast outputs
• Coordination of presenters, graphic operators, production crew, outside broadcast teams, and external providers
• Manage timing, presentation, sponsorship requirements, and verbal and visual content throughout each shift
• Make fast, accurate decisions under pressure to maintain a seamless and engaging customer experience
• Complete shift reports and support the training of new team members by sharing your broadcast knowledge and experience

What You’ll Bring 

• Experience directing live television, multi-camera studio production, or similar broadcast programming
• A minimum of four years’ experience in a broadcasting environment or related field
• Strong practical knowledge of television production, broadcast systems, and studio operations
• Confidence making quick decisions and managing multiple priorities in a live, fast-paced environment
• Strong computer literacy, attention to detail, and clear communication skills
• Commitment to work across a 24/7 roster, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays

Great to Have

• A degree, diploma, or other tertiary qualification in broadcasting, television production, or a related discipline
• Experience in racing or sports broadcasting
• Experience operating broadcast graphics and control room equipment
