As our new Casual Kitchen Hand/Baking Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding food experiences on a daily basis for our cafe in Tauranga city area, with the chance of also working occasionally events during evenings and weekends. You’ll work closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure items are delivered to a high standard and in a timely manner. This role is a casual position for 3 to 4 mornings a week with the chance of more as the business develops, you’ll need to be flexible with your availability to meet the needs of our busy events calendar.

About the Role:

• Proven experience in a commercial kitchen environment


• A passion for cooking and commitment to food safety and hygiene


• Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings and weekends as required


• A strong team player who communicates well and stays calm under pressure


• Relevant experience or chef qualifications and Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)


• Pervious café/baking or production line experience desired but not essential


• Having reliable transport to be able to work at different locations


• Baking experience preferred, but not necessary


• Food service and delivery experience

About You:

Have a passion for food and flavour, what to be part of a ever growing team, ideally have at least 1 years experience in a commercial kitchen, ability to work under pressure. Reliable. Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
