We have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join our Opal Fibre business based in Hastings, New Zealand.

This is a highly strategic, dynamic role managing a large and complex supply chain and logistics network focused on seasonal stock builds to support our fresh produce customers.

• You will work with a critical regional hub, navigating complex cross-country stock movements, massive 23,000-pallet storage capacities, and direct interactions with major pack houses.


• If you thrive on building structure out of complexity, this role gives you the autonomy to overhaul 3PL performance, implement data-driven workflows, and reshape our regional logistics footprint.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

• Overseeing warehousing, local and linehaul freight, and container movements while driving standardised processes and strict management for aged stock.


• Holding our logistics partners accountable, driving KPI compliance, and rolling up your sleeves to resolve freight and invoicing discrepancies.


• Leveraging analytical tools and ordering systems to maintain optimal working capital and budgeted stock.


• Partnering cross-functionally with sales, production planners and paper mill supply chain teams, while maintaining deep relationships with major fresh produce clients.


• Championing full compliance with HS&E and Chain of Responsibility (COR) legislation, while mentoring, training, and building accountability across a team of direct and indirect reports.

We are looking for an analytical, resilient, and highly collaborative professional who can manage up and across an organization while thriving in a high-volume seasonal environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Strong Supply Chain & Logistics Expertise: Proven experience managing large-scale warehousing, freight operations, and seasonal inventory builds, ideally within a manufacturing, packaging, or primary industries sector.


• A track record of stepping into unstructured environments to implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), clear KPIs, and structural stability.


• Confidence in closely managing external transport and warehousing vendors, identifying and resolving issues, and driving contract compliance.


• The ability to coach and develop an internal operational team, manage upcoming workforce transitions, and step into site-wide leadership initiatives.
