Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Conifer Service is based in Halswell, just a short drive from our main campus. It is home to three long-term flatmates – Carol, Adam, and Dylan – who have lived together for a number of years.

We are looking for two new Support Workers to join the team and provide person-centred support to the people who call Conifer home. This role focuses on supporting evening routines, including preparing dinner, encouraging participation in activities, and engaging with each person in a calm, respectful, and meaningful way.

You will be energetic, empathetic and able to work alongside this person focussing on creating a life of rich and diverse experiences while being able to read situations, problem solve and apply boundaries or offer space.  Daily tasks include supporting with daily routines while encouraging independence to develop skills and personal growth. You will have the confidence to support personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks. You will be passionate about supporting and extending people’s ability to access and be part of their wider community. If you are looking for a new challenge this could be the opportunity for you. 

This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and dependant on qualification level, pays between $23.95 and $30 per hour.

Position 1

• Wednesday 3pm to 10pm, 10pm to 7am (Sleepover)

• Thursday and Friday 7am to 3pm

• Saturday 3pm to 10pm, 10pm to 7am (Sleepover)

Sleepover hours: 36 | Hands on hours: 60

Total Hours per fortnight: 86

Position 2

• Thursday and Friday 3pm to 10pm, 10pm to 7am (Sleepover)

• Saturday 7am to 3pm

Sleepover hours: 36 | Hands on hours: 44

Total Hours per fortnight: 80
