The Project

CPB Contractors has been selected by Rau Paenga (Formerly known as Ōtākaro Ltd) to deliver the Christchurch Parakiore Sports and Recreation Centre. This will be the largest aquatic and indoor recreation and community venue in New Zealand. The three-building facility will cater to local and international events, with construction including a 10-lane competition pool with seating for 1,000 spectators, swim leisure area, nine indoor netball and basketball courts and a show court with retractable seating for 2,500 spectators. This project continues CPB Contractors’ long track record of delivering important infrastructure in New Zealand.

In this role as an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for completing various tasks including estimating, planning, cost management, cost monitoring and accurate, timely financial reporting. Your ability to maximise value for our clients through effective resource management and strong relationships will be crucial. This opportunity will allow you to demonstrate your previous success, gained from a successful career to maximise resources and relationships to deliver results

We're keen to meet with Senior Quantity Surveyors who bring:

  • Experience working on commercial construction projects, working with a high number of subcontractors, with a tier 1 or tier 2 contractor.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience with large complex contracts
  • Conflict resolution skills, and the ability to negotiate positive outcomes
  • The ability to engage with subcontractors, and to communicate with people at all levels to ensure productivity, compliance, and drive results.

As the successful candidate you will need to be a self-starter who is highly motivated, well organised and committed to the highest possible work standards. You will also have the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and subcontractors.
