He angitūtanga: The opportunity


 


Parks & Community Facilities is a department within the Community Directorate, and has the privilege and commitment to ensure community assets are fit for purpose, delivering outstanding community experiences and outcomes for Aucklanders. As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes. 


 


In this role, you’ll be part of the Planning & Reporting team, and have a key role to play in our Sustainability Programme including greenhouse gas emission reduction, energy and water efficiency and waste reduction projects.


 


You’ll conduct business analysis and gather high-level data and reporting requirements to support sustainability initiatives and projects, and collaborate with end users and project stakeholders to design and mock up Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions (development not required). 


 


You’ll engage with Māori in the development and delivery of plans to improve sustainability performance, ensuring the principles of Kaitiakitanga within Parks & Community Facilities through asset design, delivery, and management are met.


 


He kōrero mōu: About you


 


Your strong knowledge of sustainability principles and technical skills in utilities management, waste minimisation and energy efficiency, will be supported by a degree in sustainability, environmental management, science or engineering. You’ll have technical knowledge relating to opportunities for improving the sustainability performance of property assets, and experience in manipulating and reporting on large data sets. 


 


You’ll have experience in plan development, and the agility to work across teams and departments to manage a programme of work, and an understanding of te ao Māori in relation to sustainability.
