Job Description - Sustainability Investment Assistant

RCR Green is a proudly NZ-owned developer of high quality, utility scale solar projects. Supports by its Sister Companies RCR Infrastructure Limited (RCR)​.  Our vision is to develop, build, and operate 1GW of ground mounted solar farms, connected to New Zealand’s electricity network. We are working to power New Zealand’s carbon zero future.


 


PRIMARY OBJECTIVES



    The Sustainability Investment Assistant will provide support in investment analysis, sustainable project financing, and stakeholder engagement. This role will assist in identifying, analyzing, and implementing sustainable investment opportunities, particularly in renewable energy, ESG-focused projects, and green infrastructure.


    Proficiency in Mandarin is essential, as the role involves liaising with Mandarin-speaking investors, partners, and stakeholders.


     


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



    • Conduct market research and financial analysis on sustainable investment opportunities.

    • Monitor ESG trends, regulatory changes, and sustainability risks that impact investments.

    • Assist in preparing investment reports, feasibility studies, and risk assessments.

    • Support the development of investment models for renewable energy and green infrastructure projects.

    • Assist in structuring investment proposals and presentations for potential investors.

    • Coordinate and participate in meetings, investor briefings and due diligence processes. 

    • Support the execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and financing arrangements.

    • Assist in the preparation of funding applications, financial models, and sustainability reports.

    • Help manage capital-raising efforts and strategic investment partnerships.

    • Maintain investment documentation, financial records and contract databases. 

    • Ensure all sustainability investments comply with NZ and International ESG standards.

    • Assist in drafting policy recommendations, proposals and business reports.

    • Coordinate with external auditors, consultants, and legal teams for due diligence processes.

    • Organising, maintaining diaries and making appointments.

    • Arranging travel and accommodation and occasionally, travelling with the Director

    • Ensure all investment activities align with ethical, regulatory, and company sustainability policies.

    • Maintain confidentiality and integrity when dealing with sensitive financial and investment information.

    • Report any non-compliance, risks, or conflicts of interest to the Executive Director.

    • Comply with company policies, procedures, and rules.

    • Undertake any reasonable request as directed by the Director


    KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND PARTICULAR SKILLS REQUIRED


     


    Essential:



    • Communicate in Mandarin and English with investors, funding partners, and stakeholders. (Written and Verbal)

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, renewable energy, or a related field.

    • Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.

    • Understanding of ESG principles, impact investing and sustainable finance.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) & financial software

    • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Hold a current driver’s license


    Desirable:



    • Postgraduate degree in Sustainable Finance or Environmental Management

    • Experience in renewable energy investment

    • Familiarity with NZ sustainability regulations. 

    • Prior experience with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

    • Experience in capital raising and investor relations.

    • Knowledge of carbon markets and green bonds.
