System Engineer

We are looking for an experienced System Engineer to work with us in Northland for 30-35 hours per week.

Daily Tasks Involved in the role:

• Design, implement, and maintain IT systems and infrastructure across a chain of restaurants to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Establish and manage operational procedures for backups, recovery, and security controls to protect critical data and support uninterrupted restaurant services
• Collaborate with restaurant managers and staff to address IT issues specific to the restaurant industry and optimise system performance for enhanced customer experience
• Liaise with security vendors, suppliers, and service providers to analyse, recommend, and maintain software security applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and service agreements
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support for server hardware and software malfunctions, including workstations and communication infrastructure, to minimise operational disruptions
• Develop and update documentation, policies, and procedures, maintaining system logs and ensuring adherence to industry best practices within the chain of restaurants
• Monitor and optimise network performance, ensuring seamless integration of IT components to support efficient restaurant operations and planning for future technology enhancements

The role requires:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Proven at least 3 years’ experience in IT systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with hands-on experience in resolving server-related hardware and software issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with restaurant managers, staff, and external partners
• Ability to assess current IT systems, identify future network requirements, and make recommendations for technological improvements to support sustained growth and operational excellence across multiple restaurant locations
