System Engineer (Level 3)

A reputable NZ Kiwi sustainability organisation is looking to hire a Level 3 Systems Engineer to join their small, but mighty, IT Infrastructure Team.
  
As a senior member of the team, you’ll be providing high level support to escalated Service Desk L2 requests from upwards of 1600 users. With staff based across 70+ sites in NZ, you’ll play a vital role in monitoring and maintaining the company’s IT Infrastructure, while also contributing to multiple projects.
  
This will suit a proactive individual who doesn’t shy away from a challenge and is confident in working with on-prem IT Infrastructure, as the business has yet to migrate to the Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support IT Infrastructure, including VM hosts, SAN, networks and firewalls.
• Collaborate with team members and external partners to ensure seamless operations.
• Participate in business initiatives and project work, contributing your expertise to drive success.
• Provide further escalation support for complex technical issues, working closely with vendors to reach resolution

Your skills and background:

• 5+ years' relevant experience as a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer
• Proficiency with VMware, Networking (LAN/WAN), Meraki switching & Firewalls
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment where everyone contributes across various tasks
• Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to infrastructure management
• Security awareness to ensure the safety and integrity of business systems
